Hawaii Analytical Laboratory is a locally-owned and an AIHA and NVLAP accredited lab performing analyses for asbestos fibers, silica, mold & fungi, heavy metals and others, relating to industrial hygiene and worker safety and health.
About the Position
We receive samples on a daily basis that you have to accept from clients, sort, verify against the incoming chain of custody (COC), organize by turn-around time (TAT) and type of analysis requested, assign job number and sample numbers, label samples and get them into the Lab for analysis. Any discrepancy needs to be resolved with clients prior to place samples in the lab. Data needs to be entered quickly and accurately. You are expected to read, understand and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities:
Morning sample pickups at various client locations (Pearl City to Kaimuki), usual time back at the lab is around 10:30 am
Greet clients and retrieve samples with chain of custody
Receive and ID incoming samples
Prioritize incoming samples and verify with client's COC
Accurate data entry using MS Access and Excel
Follow all laboratory procedures and standards
Interact with clients / provide courteous customer service
Position Requirements:
Accurate Typing/Data Entry, 50-60 WPM, fast 10-key usage Pays attention to details
Strong organizational skills
Strong communications
Effective time management
Able to multitask and follows directions
Able to stand or sit for long hours
Proficient in MS Office-Word, Excel and Outlook
Basic math and problem-solving skills
Valid Driver's License and current auto insurance
Ethical work habits
Education:
HS Degree, some college science course work (optional)
Work Hours:
Monday --Friday 8:30 -- 17:00
Employment type: Full-Time
Compensation: Hourly pay, based on experience.
